Greetings, I have a few quick questions.
Is there a way to rule out Alexithymia?
Are these results worth asking my therapist, psychiatrist, and psychologist about or would I need a much stronger "hint" at Alexithymia?
Would this problem be exacerbated by medication? I'm currently taking some medication for ADHD (buproprion and buspirone) and we may try stimulants soon if I don't improve much.
Basically I'm trying to figure out if my emotional blindness or confusion is Aspergers, which my psychiatrist unofficially diagnosed me with (waiting for official test), which I feel fits me REALLY well in almost all areas, or if I possibly have Alexithymia or both.
I scored 146 on this test, with 100% full on problematic interpersonal relationships, difficulty describing emotions, and vicarious interpretation of feelings and "high" on the others (65-85%)
I found Alexithymia first after researching affective deprivation disorder and Ongoing Traumatic Relationship Syndrome, which I've read can happen to spouses of people with ASD/Aspergers and also people with Alexithymia. My wife and her MH team are thinking she might be suffering from OTRS or affective deprivation disorder.
